Driver installation issues for Centrino Advanced-N 6205 card in Windows 7 64 bit
Those cards (Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (802.11 a/b/g/n)) Half Mini Card ) were use in Dell E6320 and some other popular laptops. Products, since they say to contact Intel. Thank you for your post.
The driver download that you mention is the correct generic version for windows 7 64bit.
We do recommend using the drivers specifically from Dell since those have been tested with your system configuration and may have been customized.
If the wireless adapter was exchanged then the issue would be related to the fact that it would not be compatible with your system altogether. But Windows refuses to load my driver for the WLAN-card.
The Intel® WiFi Link 6205 Wireless-N Half Mini-Card ships with the Intel PROSet/Wireless utility. But the Windows wont load it!
Can anybody help with this please!

In case the issue persists contact the computer manufacturer for further assistance since you have tried several different driver versions.

here is what I have made:
uninstall intel proset wireless
uninstall VPN (this is my work computer))
uninstall driver+card in windows Device Manager
netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
install intel proset/wireless 15.6.1 --> go in advanced options,
The error message you describe is usually related to using incorrect/non-tested drivers or failing hardware.
